The Iranian government is arming police with electroshock devices.

The deputy head of Iran’s police command, Qasem Rezaei, noted that providing specialized police with electroshock weapons is a priority, saying: “We are in the process of supplying and manufacturing these weapons, and at the same time we are equipping the forces!
He said equipping police with electroshock weapons is important to “ensure order and security” and adapt to “normalization.”
“This equipment is very effective at crime scenes and can help the police in the fight against criminals, especially ‘bandits’,” said Ghasem Rezayi.
It should be noted that Iran’s police and security agencies call a group of suspects, accused or criminals “thugs” and treat them harshly.
