On October 11, Andrei Kovalenko, head of the Center for Countering Disinformation of the National Security and Defense Council, reported that in the Kursk region the Ukrainian Armed Forces managed to thwart the Russian army’s plan. He noted that, without going into details, one can speak of significant losses of material on the part of Russia.
Previous events indicate that previously Russian troops managed to advance on the left flank of the Ukrainian defenses in the Uur region.
According to the analytical project DeepState, on the afternoon of October 10 there were significant changes in the tactical situation in this region. Particular attention was paid to the fighting in the Novoivanovka area, where Ukrainian gunners and drone operators had to fight fierce battles. In recent weeks, Russian troops have significantly reinforced their presence, bringing in additional equipment and forces.
Russian troops also attempted attacks in the Snagoga area, resulting in some tactical successes. However, Ukrainian forces held their positions despite the attack. Until recently, the attempts of the Russian troops were stopped, but on October 10 the situation changed: the Russian army resumed its offensive, trying to gain a foothold near Novoivanovka and Green Road.
DeepState analysts consider the situation in this area to be extremely unstable, especially for the units located to the north. In addition, they point to poor coordination between Ukrainian forces, which negatively affects their interaction. As an example, they cite an incident in which a Ukrainian tank was hit by a Defense Forces FPV drone, which was an unpleasant event for Ukrainian units.
