At the opening of the Med9 leaders’ summit, the Cypriot president analyzes the “complicated situation” in the Middle East
“One step away from Cyprus we have a war, we have a complicated situation”declared the Cypriot president, Nikos Christodoulides, when opening the summit of leaders of the “Med9”which brings together the Mediterranean countries of the European Union (EU), to discuss, in the presence of King Abdullah II of Jordan, the crisis in the Middle East, in the face of which diplomacy seems powerless for the moment.
The Cypriot president thanked the Jordanian sovereign for his presence at this lunch of the heads of State or Government of the nine countries (France, Italy, Spain, Greece, Cyprus, Malta, Slovenia and Croatia, in addition to Portugal represented by its Minister of Foreign Affairs Foreign Affairs Foreign Affairs), accompanied by the president of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen.
