Liputan6.com, Paris – France will prohibit smoking on the beach and in parks, public gardens and bus stops, starting from Sunday (06/29/2025).
The decree published in the official government on Saturday (6/28) will also be forbidden to smoke outside the library, pool and school, in order to protect children from the dangers of cigarette smoke.
Violators of this ban will be fined in the amount of 135 euros or about 2.5 million rubles. Nevertheless, the decree did not mention the question of electrical cigarettes. So, as reported CNA.
“Tobacco should disappear from the places contained in children,” said the Minister of Health and the family of Katherine Vautrin in May, emphasizing “the right of children to breathe clean air.”
The terrace cafe is not included in this ban.
It is expected that about 75,000 people die every year in France from complications related to tobacco consumption.
According to the latest survey, six out of ten French citizens or 62 percent support the ban on smoking in public places.
