Our editorial team received a complaint about the “Haji Turgay” brand sausage belonging to the “MTLTD” company.
About this Oku.AzThe citizen who complained said that the “Kozlema” brand sausage is made with halal ingredients, but the word “pork fat” appears on the receipt.
To clarify the issue, we contacted Seymur Hasanzadeh, an employee of the Commercial Department of “MTLTD”.
He said that pork fat is used in the company’s “Sevimli dad” product and the information is registered, but the trademarked sausage “Haji Turgay” does not use pork fat at all:
“That company does not use anything related to pork. It is likely that there was an error on the receipt from the “Araz” supermarket. That word is on the product receipt, but it is not on the product label. . This is not “It is the responsibility of our company.”
In response to our query, the press service of the Azerbaijan Food Safety Agency (AQTA) said that in accordance with Article 17 of the Law of the Republic of Azerbaijan “On Food Safety”, which came into force on 1 January 2023, the Requirements for the labeling of food products were determined:
“In accordance with these requirements, together with other information about the product, complete information on the composition and date of production of the product must be recorded in the labeling, and the labeling of products must be carried out in a manner that is precise, clear and fully understandable to consumers. consumers.
The recorded images will be supervised by the Food Safety Agency. The problem will be investigated and the result reported.
Consumers are asked to report any inconsistencies they have encountered in the area of nutrition to the “1003” call center.
In response to our query, the press service of the “Araz” Supermarket Network stated that the incident occurred in only one establishment and was resolved immediately.
