The Russian army advanced towards Toretsk and established a foothold on two streets in the city center. This was reported by the spokesperson for the operational tactical group of the Armed Forces of Ukraine “Lugansk”, Anastasia Bobovnikova.
Meanwhile, the head of the local administration Vasily Chinchik stated that the Russian Armed Forces control more than half of Toretsk.
“You could say that approximately 40-50% of the city is under the control of the Ukrainian Armed Forces. The rest of the territory is occupied by the enemy.” – said Chinchik quoted by the publication Strana.
According to him, there are still about 1,150 civilians in Toretsk and their evacuation continues.
