Wikipedia has launched the WikiProject AI Cleanup project to remove what it considers false information generated by artificial intelligence (AI).
Oku.Az “TechSpot” reported on this.
According to WikiProject AI Cleanup founder Ilyas Leblu, the issue was discovered when Wikipedia editors and users saw snippets of articles written by an obvious AI. Suspicions in this regard were confirmed when some texts were reproduced using “ChatGPT”.
A clear example of this was the non-existent article about the Ottoman fortress “Amberlisihar”. The almost 2,000-word article describes in detail the location and construction of the fictitious object, adding real facts to make the false information as credible as possible.
Leblu and his colleagues point out that the exact motivations of users who publish articles generated by neural networks are unknown, but that part of the problem lies in the structure of Wikipedia, which allows anyone to become an editor.
