Rwanda has recorded 58 cases of Marburg fever, including 13 deaths. This was reported on October 11 by the World Health Organization (WHO).

“As of October 10, Rwanda has reported a total of 58 cases of Marburg virus disease, including 13 deaths. The mortality rate is 22%.” – says the publication.

After contracting fever, 15 people recovered, the organization added. At the same time, more than 700 people who had contact with the infected are under medical supervision.

The WHO has classified the outbreak as a level 3 emergency. It is noted that this is the highest internal level for an emergency. In this sense, the organization’s rapid response team traveled to the country to support local medical institutions, Izvestia clarifies.
