The disappearance of a young Navarrese man five days ago in Playa Pita, in the Cuerda del Pozo reservoir in Soria, did not have a happy ending. The Government Subdelegation of the province of Soria reported that around 8:30 am this Sunday, the Civil Guard patrol on duty in the Playa Pita area saw what could be a human body in the middle of the Cuerda del Pozo reservoir.
The agents were able to verify a few moments later that it was indeed the body of a person. As reported by the Sub-delegation, in the absence of definitive identification, everything seems to indicate that it is the 25-year-old young man who disappeared last Tuesday and the fact was brought to the attention of the judicial authority and the family of a young man from Tudela who was searched for five days.
This Saturday morning, the Civil Guard resumed the search for the Navarrese using drones, the Seprona boat and foot patrols along the perimeter of the reservoir in this area, but without managing to find the body, after the tragic event that occurred on Tuesday when the young man I was spending a fun day at Pita Beach on a sunny afternoon.
It was at 6 pm that happiness turned into tragedy. He was riding a pedal boat and decided to jump into the water to swim. At that moment, his girlfriend, who also did not know how to swim, saw the water swallow her partner without her being able to do anything to save him.
The incident occurred about 500 meters from the pier where the depth exceeds 10 meters and its capacity is 60%. A search that has not been easy at all and has been further aggravated by the weather conditions. At the time of the tragic event, the Civil Guard and the firefighters were scouring the area but the arrival of night forced them to suspend work.
The following days, the members of GEAS carried out circle dives, but they also did not give any results. Likewise, they stressed that the search encountered many difficulties since they did not have an exact reference of the place where the trace was lost and that the waters of the reservoir are very cloudy, limiting visibility to 50 centimeters deep, which forced the divers to carry out the search practically by touch. Finally, this Sunday early in the morning, the fatal outcome occurred with the appearance of the lifeless body of the young man from Tudela.
