The forbidden journey of Sánchez and Delcy

After the Civil Guard report on Koldo affair reveal that Pedro Sanchez authorized the arrival of Delcy Rodriguez in Spain, the president recognized this Friday that Jose Luis Abalos informed him of the visit of the Vice President of Venezuela.

That’s to say, tacitly admitted that he lied when in 2020 he assured Parliament that Delcy’s landing in Barajas was improvised and not wanted by the government, and that Ábalos was limited to intervening to “avoid a diplomatic crisis”.

But even though Sánchez has now admitted that he was aware of it, he assured that the reception of the second of Nicolas Maduro “it was canceled” when the government realized that sanctions were being imposed on it.

It is obvious that there was no cancellation, given that Delcy set foot on Spanish soil. What Sánchez implied was that he distanced himself from the reception and withdrew the authorization, so Ábalos would have acted on his own initiative in going to Barajas.

But the umpteenth version of Sánchez Delcygate It is as improbable as the previous ones.

First of all because, as EL ESPAÑOL explains today, It is not argued that the President was initially unaware that the Venezuelan President was prohibited from entering the European area.. Because his government made its debut in 2018 in Brussels by approving these sanctions against the vice-president. Its Executive must therefore have known them perfectly since then.

Even the most benevolent hypothesis towards the president is not tenable, namely that he did not notice the prohibition which weighed on the president when Ábalos asked for his authorization. Because Delcy Rodríguez is not the vice president of an irrelevant and unknown government of which one can claim total ignorance.

And the same can be said of his alleged ignorance of the alleged corruption plot from which, according to the UCO, Ábalos allegedly benefited. Sánchez is hiding behind the fact that he was deceived by the former minister. But It is as absurd to think that Ábalos knew nothing of Koldo’s actions as it is to think that Sánchez knew nothing of Ábalos’ actions.who was his number two of the party and its most faithful collaborator.

Furthermore, from the conversation with the former organizational secretary of the PSOE, it appears that the president knew perfectly well what he was talking about. Because Sánchez responded with “good” when Ábalos referred to “the management that we have agreed on in favor of Spanish companies”. The same can be deduced from the message in which Ábalos clarifies to Koldo “you see that he didn’t tell me anything, but at least he doesn’t object to it”.

The president tried to break his ties with the man who brought him to La Moncloa by showing “absolute strength in the face of any suspicion of corruption that could have arisen, unfortunately, in my government.”

But, discharging all responsibility Koldo affair In his former minister, he does not seem to realize that, far from serving as a firewall, pretending ignorance is an almost worse option. Because In this case, it is not clear whether complicity or ignorance is worse.

And even more so when Sánchez shouted Mariano Rajoy in 2018 that he was “a driver asleep at the wheel of a country”. According to his own defense, the same thing would have happened to him.

In any case, the president is asking citizens for an act of faith that his credibility, given his devastating journalistic archives, does not justify granting him. Especially when, even today, he is not able to coordinate the story with his government colleagues. Pilar Alegria (which was hunting lying this week because of Begoña affair and the amendment to release ETA) attributed Delcy’s landing to “a technical stoppage of the aircraft.” So if Alegría is telling the truth, Sánchez would be deceiving again.

Each time new incriminating evidence appeared, the president changed his version. In fact, Ábalos himself has given different explanations in these days of 2020. And since it was already known that the former minister had not told the truth when claiming that his meeting with Delcy was a coincidence, Sánchez has it when even supported in the Cortes.

If the president has already lied several times about this scandal, why should we believe this new version? Why would this new explanation be the right one?
