And the same can be said of his alleged ignorance of the alleged corruption plot from which, according to the UCO, Ábalos allegedly benefited. Sánchez is hiding behind the fact that he was deceived by the former minister. The president tried to break his ties with the man who brought him to La Moncloa by showing “absolute strength in the face of any suspicion of corruption that could have arisen, unfortunately, in my government.”
