In Syria, Assad faces overthrow after Nasrallah’s elimination

Recently, tensions around Hezbollah and Iran, their positions and influence in Syria have increased markedly. Although Hezbollah remains an important force, its resources and capabilities may be seriously weakened. This process, which I will discuss in more detail in my next article, has already led to greater trust among opponents of Iran and Hezbollah in Syria.

Thus, the Idlib Popular Resistance Front announced a recruitment of volunteers to fight the Assad regime, signaling the resumption of activity by forces opposed to Iran. Additionally, there has been an increase in attacks on Syrian army positions in the Aleppo region, which may indicate a “chain reaction” effect in the region. As a result, Iran could be forced to devote resources to defending its position in Syria, weakening its ability to pay attention to Israel.

It is important to note that Iran’s enemies in Syria are not always Israel’s allies. There are many jihadist groups now focused on combating Iranian influence, but that does not mean their priorities have changed relative to other adversaries, including Israel.

The weakening of Iran’s position in Syria can certainly be beneficial for Israel, but the process of destabilization of the region also carries its own difficulties and challenges.

Previously, “Cursor” reported thatBashar al-Assad’s army could have disappeared during the IDF attacks on the Yafur base with high-explosive missiles. Syrian media reported that the IDF (Israel Defense Forces) attacked the headquarters of the Syrian Army’s 4th Armored Division, commanded by General Maher al-Assad, brother of President Bashar al-Assad.
