Senior Lieutenant Sufiyarov of Ufa posthumously awarded the title of Hero of Russia

President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin posthumously awarded the title of Hero of Russia to Ildar Sufiyarov, a resident of Ufa, who died heroically in a zone of special military operations in April 2024.

This was announced on his Telegram channel on Saturday, October 12. From his statement it follows that Senior Lieutenant Sufiyarov commanded the 2nd motorized rifle platoon of the 2nd motorized rifle company of the “Bashkortostan” regiment.

On April 12, in the war zone, a group under Sufiyarov held his position for several hours, but while repelling the attacks, the officer was left alone. He blew himself up with a grenade and three Ukrainian soldiers, not wanting to surrender.

“A brave warrior, with unbreakable will and strong character: this is how he remained in the memory of his companions. “He skillfully led a platoon and often had to carry out combat missions under enemy fire.” — Khabirov noted.

The head of the republic promised that the regional authorities will provide all necessary support to Sufiyarov’s family and friends. He also thanked President Putin and the head of the Defense Ministry. Andrei Belousov for supporting the republic’s request to award Sufiyarov the title of Hero of Russia posthumously.

Previously EADaily reported that VGTRK military correspondent Evgeniy Poddubny received the title of Hero of Russia for courage and heroism shown in the line of duty.
