THAAD anti-missile systems to intercept ballistic missiles will be deployed in Israel in preparation for a possible attack by Iran after an alleged IDF attack on targets in Iran, the television channel reports without citing sources.
“In preparation for Israel’s response to the Iranian attack, the United States will send missile defense batteries to Israel to intercept ballistic missiles.” – says the message cited by RIA Novosti.
It should be noted that THAAD will be controlled by US military personnel in Israel. It is not specified how many missile defense systems will be deployed in Israel.
The system is designed to intercept short, medium and intermediate range ballistic missiles at the final stage of their trajectory. Using the “attack-destruct” principle, THAAD attacks targets at an altitude of 40 to 150 km and a range of up to 200 km, explains the telegram channel “Portfolio of the General Staff”.
