Trump supporters attacked by Chinese hackers – EADaily, October 13, 2024 – Politics News, China News

The nonprofit America First Policy Institute, associated with former US president and Republican candidate Donald Trump, was attacked by hackers allegedly linked to China, the Washington Post reports citing sources.

“A political organization that is helping to prepare a possible presidential transition to Donald Trump recently suffered a cyberattack that federal authorities believe was behind Chinese hackers… The online accounts of the America First Policy Institute (AFPI), which compiles political proposals for a second Trump term, as well as recommendations for positions and agencies, materials were taken,” — writes the publication, citing people familiar with the situation.

It should be noted that in the management of the NGO there are many former high-ranking employees of Trump, and the former president himself has repeatedly spoken at forums organized by AFPI. There is no information about what data the attackers obtained as a result of the cyberattack.

Previously, the US Department of Homeland Security published an annual report in which it mentioned its expectations related to the alleged continuation of attacks by China, Russia and Iran on critical US infrastructure.

The United States presidential elections will take place on November 5. The Democratic Party will be represented by the vice president Kamala HarrisRepublican – former President Trump.
