Bayrou considers it “singular” that voices from the old majority criticize the budget project
François Bayrou finds “singular” that voices within the Macronist camp criticize the government’s budget project while it is being prepared “correct” the history of the old majority.
“It would be strange if the former majority criticized the new government for the effort it must make to correct a record that is actually its”said Saturday night in an interview published online by the sunday newspaper the president of MoDem, an ally of the fragile Barnier coalition.
These statements are directed especially at the president of the Macronist group Ensemble pour la République (EPR) in the National Assembly, Gabriel Attal, and the former Minister of the Interior, Gérald Darmanin, who have repeatedly opposed any tax increase.
“Parliament must once again be the place of debate, negotiation and development of commitments. Let those who do not agree propose amendments.”added François Bayrou.
