Washington could deploy the THAAD missile defense system in Israel in case of Iranian missile attacks, Israeli media report.
Israel Defense Forces (IDF) radio notes that the deployment of THAAD to Israel is part of preparations for the Israeli response to recent ballistic missile attacks against the country by Iran.
Channel 12, in turn, reports that the complex will be managed by the US military.
At the same time, the Walla portal, citing American sources, notes that Washington has not yet made a final decision on the transfer of THAAD to Israel.
As Interfax notes, on October 1, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, as part of Operation True Promise 2, launched a large number of missiles against Israel. The Israeli military said it would respond to the attack when it deemed appropriate.
Previously, Western media reported that Israel could attack Iranian nuclear and oil facilities in retaliation.
