The world of justice salutes “an ardent defender of freedoms”

After seventy years in the profession and as many years of tenacious defence of freedoms, Henri Leclerc, a lawyer and tireless defender of human rights, died on Saturday in Villejuif, in Val-de-Marne, at the age of 90.

Like many other lawyers on Saturday night “Dear Henri, you often said, ‘If there were only one left, I would be the one.’ With his passing, we lose a tireless defender of freedoms whose commitment and talent will have left their mark on the bar and on our entire justice system. I send my deepest condolences to his loved ones.”

“The Lion King is dead and we are orphans. Henri was an exceptional man, a faithful friend and a mentor.
