Caribbean countries can demand at least $269 billion in reparations from Britain for the slave trade.

According to the publication, a group of 15 Caribbean governments unanimously agreed to consider the issue of reparations at the Commonwealth Heads of Government meeting in Samoa on October 21.
Speaking at the 79th session of the UN General Assembly in September, Barbados Prime Minister Mia Mottley declared that reparations for the slave trade and colonialism should be part of a “global reset” of international relations.
