In some cases, passengers demand that the taxi stop in places where parking is prohibited or there is a bus lane. The creation of certain taxi ranks is already being considered.
Thus, the Azerbaijan Land Transport Agency (AYNA) has prepared a project related to the organization of taxi ranks. This was indicated in the agency’s statement. The information mentions that there are more than 130 taxi ranks on various streets and avenues in Baku. As most of them are not organized into attraction points, they sometimes create obstacles to traffic. Therefore, AYNA applies a complex approach to the topic.
Work is being carried out to eliminate points that hinder traffic movement and at the same time identify new points of attraction. It is planned to organize new attraction points mainly around universities, shopping centers, transport interchange centers, as well as on alternative roads near bus lanes.
Taking into account the requests of residents, analyzes were carried out and a project was prepared on the organization of taxi ranks and stops for passenger vehicles on Tbilisi Avenue in the capital. According to the project, six points have been identified on Tbilisi Avenue where taxis can stop. Work will begin soon.

Perhaps in some places, these parking lots do not meet the needs because the streets and avenues in Baku have been determined in advance, it is impossible to change or fix them.”
