First popular race through the M-30 tunnels

In Madrid there is practically a race every weekend: there are solidarity races, company races, pet races, five or ten kilometer races, half marathons.. . but none of them had included the underground part of the M-30 in their route. Until now. The next November 3on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the ring road, the M-30 tunnels will host the first popular race in its history.

This test, organized by the Madrid City Council, will have its departure and arrival at the Marqués de Vadillo roundabout. It will start at 9:00 a.m. and will consist of two routes, one of 5 kilometers and the other of 10 kilometers, which will pass entirely through the two southern bypass tunnels: the outward route via the outer road and the return via the inner road. .

The organization has established four categories: senior (16 to 34 years old), veteran A (35 to 44 years old), veteran B (45 to 55 years old) and veteran C (from 56 years old). will be delivered a commemorative trophy to the first three classified men and the first three women in each category. All participants will also receive a commemorative t-shirt.

Registrations, which will be free, will open this Tuesday

In addition to the race itself, participants and the general public will be able to enjoy musical and entertainment activities before and after the race at the Marqués de Vadillo roundabout, where it is planned to install a stage.

It is for this reason that we invite all residents of Madrid and non-Madrid residents to register tomorrow for this unique initiative,” explained Paloma García Romero, delegate of the Works and Equipment sector.

The total length of the M-30 ring, including tunnels and open roads, is comparable to a 500-kilometer track.
