British runner Robbie Fitzgibbon, who competed in the European Championships and the Diamond League, has died at the age of 29.

Fitzgibbon specializes in middle distance running and reached the 1,500m final at the 2019 European Indoor Championships, finishing eighth. He later injured his ankle and underwent surgery, after which he was unable to return to his previous level.
Fitzgibbon planned to run the Brighton Marathon in 2025 to raise money for a mental health charity.
The athlete admitted this year that he was diagnosed with psychosis in 2022.
The cause of Fitzgibbon’s death has not been revealed.
