At least 25 people died and 120 were injured two bombings by the Israeli army against a school that housed displaced people Nuseirat refugee camp and against the tents installed in the Al Aqsa Martyrs Hospital (Deir al Balá), in the center of the Gaza Strip.
Gaza authorities said an Israeli attack on the “Mufti” school in the Nuseirat camp, killed 22 people, including 15 children and womenand injured 80 people. As stated in a statement posted on his Telegram channel, “With this massacre, the number of bombed shelters and displaced people rises to 191.” “This new crime is added to the difficult health situation as is the case in the central province, where more than a million people currently live,” he said, adding that the Al Aqsa Martyrs Hospital “cannot provide adequate medical services to all these very many displaced people” due to “the great overpopulation and numerous wounded who arrive at all hours”.
For its part, Hamas declared that “the horrible massacre committed” by Israel “is an insistence on its war of extermination”, which “would not have dared to continue” without “the cover provided by the US administration and international silence.
“We call on the international community and the United Nations to assume their legal and moral responsibilities in the face of these repeated crimes, to take immediate measures to end the ongoing aggression and to hold the leaders of this terrorist entity accountable for their crimes and violations against our Palestinian people and the people of the region,” he insisted, according to the Palestinian newspaper “Filastin,” linked to Hamas.
Attack inside Al Aqsa hospital
Shortly after, the media office reported that three people dead and 40 injured in tent bombing which were installed inside the Al Aqsa Martyrs Hospital, located in Deir al Balá. The Arab spokesperson for the Israeli army, Avichai Adraee, indicated that fighter jets attacked “terrorists” “Hamas members used the hospital complex to plan and carry out terrorist operations,” he explained.
“Prior to the attack, several measures were taken to reduce the risk of civilian casualties, including the use of precision munitions, aerial surveillance and additional intelligence,” he explained. He also said that Hamas “systematically violates international law, brutally exploiting institutions and civilian populations as human shields.”
