At least three dead and dozens injured after bombing of hospital in Gaza

Several people died and many were injured during an Israeli army bombardment of tents for displaced people at Al-Aqsa hospital in Gaza this morning, according to the Palestinian agency. The Hamas government in the enclave reports three dead and around forty injured, a figure that the Al Jazeera network puts at four dead and around seventy injured.

The Gaza Health Ministry, controlled by Hamas, denounced the day before that hospitals in northern Gaza remained under Israeli siege for the eighth consecutive day, “endangering the lives of patients”. This is the seventh time that Israel has attacked the same center, Gaza authorities said in a statement.

As is often the case, the Israeli armed forces justified the attack by saying it was directed against Hamas troops. The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) confirmed in a statement released Monday morning that it had launched a “precise strike against terrorists” operating a command center inside what it described as a former hospital.

Separately, at least 19 Palestinians were killed this Sunday in an Israeli artillery bombardment against a school that housed hundreds of displaced families near the Al-Mufti area, north of the Al Nuseirat refugee camp, in the center of the Palestinian Gaza Strip. .

The government of the Hamas-held Gaza Strip announced Sunday that more than 300 Palestinians have been killed in northern Gaza in Israeli attacks since Israel launched a new ground operation in the area on October 6. .

Since Israel launched its offensive against Gaza following the Hamas attack on Israel on October 7, 2023, which left more than 1,200 people dead and 251 kidnapped, more than 42,200 people have been killed and 98,400 others were injured in the Palestinian enclave.
