Kazakh peacekeepers continue to serve in Lebanon amid the escalating situation on the Lebanon-Israel border. This is reported by Sputnik Kazakhstan with reference to the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
“Kazakh peacekeepers, represented by three staff officers, continue to work as usual in Lebanon. The worsening of the situation is located at a distance from their places of service,” – says the department information.
He added that if the situation worsens, the issue of evacuation of Kazakh military personnel will be decided jointly with the UN Secretariat and the leadership of the mission, with which the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Kazakhstan is in constant contact.
Late last week, the UN interim force in Lebanon reported that the Israeli army had shelled its main headquarters and strongholds, wounding two peacekeepers.
On Sunday, UN peacekeepers in Lebanon said three IDF units crossed the Blue Demarcation Line and entered Lebanese territory near the village of Ramya.
