The Iceland-Turkey match on the fourth round of the UEFA Nations League may be postponed because the field at the “Laugardalsvöllur” stadium, where the match will be played, is in danger of freezing before the match.
Oku.Az informs that yesterday UEFA representatives met with representatives of the Icelandic Football Federation and those responsible for the field. The meeting did not decide on the postponement.
The stadium will be inspected again today and UEFA will make the final decision on whether the match will be postponed.
It was also noted that the “Laugardalsvöllur” stadium does not have a heating system. For this reason, the square is left unprotected from the danger of frost.
It should be noted that the match was scheduled to start at 22:45 Baku time. If the match is postponed, it will be played on October 15.
