The President of the Senate, Pedro Rollán, vetoed this Monday the law that will allow Spanish prisoners to accumulate the sentences they have served in other EU countries, as is the case in other Member States. The plenary session of the Upper House rejected the law with an absolute majority of the PP, as expected. But the absence of amendments and veto from the PP itself, which supported the reform in Congress, left this vote as a testimony. However, Rollán ruled that the vote against amounted to a veto and ordered the rule sent back to Congress.
