Valencia City Hall has started the procedures to carry out a external audit which quantifies and details the real cost of the New Mestalla, just three days after the Valencia Football Club presented the execution projectnas confirmed by Mayor María José Catalá in an exclusive interview with ABC, in which she assured that the construction could only start once the team led by Peter Lim had delivered the necessary documentation to restart the work.
This decision was adopted on the basis of the proposal made in this regard by the Councilor for Urban Planning, Housing and Licensing, Juan Giner, in response to the plenary agreement adopted last July on this issue. Concretely, it is agreed to begin the corresponding contractual file on the basis of the motion presented this Monday by the town planning manager to this effect. The decision provides that “the necessary actions be taken to prepare an external audit of the cost of the stadium, in accordance with the provisions of the agreement of the plenary session of July 23, 2024”.
The document promoted by Giner recalls that on July 12, the Valencia City Council granted the company Valencia CF building permit for the execution of the works called New Valencia CF Stadium on Avenida de las Cortes Valencianas.
