Russia regained control in the Kursk region – Ropka – EADaily, October 14, 2024 – Military news, Russian news

After three months of fighting, Russia was able to regain control of the Kursk region. This is stated by Bild’s open data analysis expert, Julian Röpke.

The Russian army, according to the analyst, continues its offensive in the Kursk region from the west, towards the towns of Lyubimovka and Novoivanovka. The Russian Armed Forces also eliminated the Ukrainian Armed Forces from the last village near the regional center of Korenevo and, in addition, are reducing the Ukrainian bridgehead from the east, where they liberated the villages of Borki and Spalnoye. Now there are battles for the village of Plekhovo. Since the start of the counteroffensive, Russian units have traveled 13 kilometers there, Röpke reports.

“Now the dynamics in the Kursk region are such that after about three months [боёв] Russia was able to largely regain control. Although the great battle for Sudzha, the only city taken by the Ukrainians, has not even begun yet. Therefore, we still do not know how long the Ukrainians will be able to hold out there, nor how good a defense they have built there. We will most likely see this in the coming weeks, or months at the latest. Because now the dynamics are such that the Russians, even though they are in their own country, are slowly returning to their own border and expelling the Ukrainians from there.” – said the expert quoted by the telegram channel “Bild in Russian”*.

Röpke noted that the Russians are increasingly using drones in the Kursk region, controlled by fiber optic cable with a range of up to 8 km. These drones successfully destroy the equipment of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, and Ukrainian electronic warfare systems in this case are powerless. The APU, in turn, uses small traditional quadcopters and new medium fixed-wing interceptor drones.

how it was transmitted EADailyLater this year, the Ukrainian Armed Forces will adopt fixed-wing medium interceptor drones. This was reported by Bild’s open data analysis expert, Julian Röpke.

According to Röpke, in the Ukrainian conflict the Russian Armed Forces have complete air superiority, whether planes, drones or missiles. However, the West prohibits the Ukrainian Armed Forces from carrying out retaliatory strikes against Russian air bases, so kyiv is increasingly relying on its own interceptor drones to shoot down Russian unmanned aerial vehicles.
