Hearings on harassment charges against Depardieu postponed until next year

The hearing in the case of French actor Gerard Depardieu, accused of sexual harassment, was postponed until March 2025. This was reported by France Presse.

“The trial of Gérard Depardieu accused of sexually assaulting two women during the filming of a film in 2021 has been postponed by the Paris Criminal Court until March 24 and 25, 2025” – says the publication.

In addition, before the trial to be held in early March next year, the artist was ordered to undergo a medical examination to evaluate his ability to participate in court hearings.

As reported EADailyOn October 28, a trial was scheduled for two women who worked with Depardieu in the filming of the films “The Magician and the Siamese” (Magicien et les Siamois, 2015) and “Green Blinds” (Les Volets verts, 2022). . If the actor is found guilty, he faces up to 5 years in prison and a fine of up to 75,000 euros.

Previously, his lawyer Jeremy Assou reported that Depardieu filed a request to postpone the trial because “the doctors prohibited him from appearing at the hearing.”

At the same time, the 75-year-old artist himself “intends to appear before a criminal court, he ardently wishes to defend himself.”

Assu clarified that, according to the doctors, “with proper treatment, the actor will recover in six months.”
