The traditional “The Horsemen’s Festival” filled the streets of the town of Ses Salines this Saturday. This year’s lively celebration brought more than 20 horses and riderswho gave his all so that people could enjoy a good show.
The festival, which always takes place on the last Saturday of August, began with the ‘to fawn over’ in front of the City Hall, with the entire council led by the mayor Juan Rodriguezreceiving him and starting the party.
After that, the ‘fabioler’ went to the ‘Majoral’ house, this year Xisco Bonet, where he was allowed to start the ‘replec’which consists of recovering each of the riders in their respective homes.
Once everyone was gathered, they went back to the Town Hall of Ses Salines, where the mayor gave the necessary authorization to start the party. Juan Rodríguez: “Let’s get the party started!“, said the first mayor to launch the festivities.
During the night, in the Plaza de l’Església Vella, there were jostling, ringing and arm races, although many did not like to see the animals in action. It is worth noting that the “Festa des Cavall” has always had in mind Bep Gelabert and Tomeu Xuriboth organizers of the party and who are no longer with us today.
