In North Korea, sections of two highways leading to South Korea were blown up. This was reported by the Yonhap agency in reference to the Joint Chiefs of Staff (JCS) of the Republic of Korea.
“North Korea blew up sections of Gyeonggi and Donghae highways north of the military demarcation line around noon,” – the military said in a statement.
The committee was also briefed on strengthening surveillance measures and increasing combat readiness.
Earlier, South Korean media, citing authorities, reported that the DPRK was preparing to blow up roads. It was also reported that North Korea intends to completely block all roads and railways connecting the republic with South Korea.
