Iran took extreme measures and interrupted indirect negotiations with the United States

Indirect negotiations between Iran and the United States, mediated by Oman and known as the Muscat Process, have been suspended. This was stated by the Iranian Foreign Minister, Abbas Araqchi, during his visit to Muscat. According to him, the negotiations were interrupted “due to the specific situation in the Middle East.” IRNA reports this.

Araqchi stressed that at the moment there are no reasons to continue negotiations, but the issue of their resumption will be considered once the current crisis is over. He noted Oman’s important role as a mediator in relations between Tehran and Washington, which previously helped resolve conflicts and created conditions for negotiations.

The Iranian minister added that Iran’s position remains the same: Tehran does not seek war, although it is prepared for any scenario. Araqchi expressed confidence that diplomacy is the only way to prevent major conflicts in the region and avoid escalation.

Oman has traditionally played an important role in mediation between Iran and the United States, including the secret talks that led to the 2015 nuclear deal.

Cursor previously reported that Iran has no “red lines” when it comes to protecting its people and interests, Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said in a post on the X website. His statement comes as the region prepares for an Israeli attack after the recent Iranian ballistic attack. missile attacks.
