Indirect negotiations between Iran and the United States, mediated by Oman and known as the Muscat Process, have been suspended. This was stated by the Iranian Foreign Minister, Abbas Araqchi, during his visit to Muscat. Oman has traditionally played an important role in mediation between Iran and the United States, including the secret talks that led to the 2015 nuclear deal.
