The month of September recorded a more moderate increase year-on-year Consumer Price Index (CPI) in Córdoba, which reached 1.5 percent (1.1% so far in 2024); In monthly comparison, they decreased by 0.5%, according to data published by the National Institute of Statistics (INE). This percentage is similar to the Spanish average.
The price of restaurants and hotels, and housing, water, electricity and other fuels recorded the largest increases: 6.3 and 4.4 percent, respectively. In addition, inflation increases in alcoholic beverages and tobacco (2.9%); education (2.8%) and food (2.3%). On the other side of the picture is the -4.9% drop in transportation. And so far this year, clothing and shoe prices have fallen 12%.
The CPI tables also reveal annual price changes by subgroups. Insurance increases (9.1%) stand out; accommodation services (8.7%) and personal effects (6.9%). Also striking are the increases in restaurants and dining rooms (6.1%); tobacco (5.2 percent); or social protection (4.7%). Electricity (4.5%) and water (4.3%) close the list of increases.
THE descents the largest were recorded in the telephone and fax equipment (-11.1%); use of personal vehicles (-8.1%); and further, the price of shoes and their repairs, which in September decreased by 2.9 percent compared to the same month of the previous year.
