The president of the Junta de Castilla-La Mancha, Emiliano García-Pagedefended that his regional government is trying to maintain “coherence” despite the numerous “blows” from the National Executive for opposing “changes in trends or permanent changes in wind or opinion.” The regional leader maintained that being consistent is “obligatory” in the normal attitude of a politician “and even more so in the Spain in which we live.”
During his intervention during the debate on the state of the Region, García-Page assured that the management of his administration did not produce “fear” in the citizens of Castilla-La Mancha. “I sincerely believe that in this region there is no fear like there is no social hatred government-generated, cheap populism that is now so abundant in Spain. In the same way, we do not worry about looking for enemies but rather solutions,” said the president of Castilla-La Mancha, clearly referring to the political management of the government of Pedro Sánchez.
García-Page explained that in his government there can be errors due to negligence but that in no case is his objective to generate “flags, frentismsgood and bad blocks or citizens. In this sense, he defended that the region breathes “a different atmosphere” from the rest of Spain, based on stability, certainty and favored by the capacity for listening, dialogue and agreement.
“This is obviously an exception to what is happening at the national level and it upsets us day after day. Here too, we can say very calmly that we ban sectarianism and frenteism, in fact they are definitively signed agreements with social agentswith organizations of all types and also with administrations governed by the People’s Party or independent groups. The fact that a frontism is not generated to generate noise which masks the faults of the present moment clearly means that public power contributes here to a environment of toleranceof dialogue, consensus, normality,” he noted.
The president of Castile-La Mancha continued by explaining that under his mandate there is an atmosphere of honesty even if there are “people who seek to dirty politics.” He also stressed that they have always been driven by criteria of collaboration and maintaining “institutional cordiality» even if it is done from the offset.
At the start of his speech, he also announced that he would explain how this goal was achieved. 30% of commitment in the electoral campaign, adding that he wants to contrast what is happening in Castile-La Mancha with the national scene. He also said there would be comparisons with “the reality” he encountered when he took the reins of government in 2015. “It’s common sense to say where we come from, because we we are not coming from scratch. “We are coming out of a disastrous situation,” he concluded.
