There are only four appointments left on the calendar MotoGP during the 2024 season and 10 points difference Jorge Martin of Pecco Bagnaia in the ranking.
There are 148 units left to distribute, but the margin for error is minimal, as explained Giacomo Agostini in statements to ‘La Gazzetta dello Sport’.
The most successful driver in history with 15 crowns believes Pecco has the advantage of experience.
“Maybe Bagnaia has a little more experience and now that the final phase has been reached, which means a rise in tension, one small mistake is enough to ruin everything. I see Pecco a little calmer than Jorge, who has a hotter temperament“, he reflected.
This is why he considers that tension can play tricks on Martín: “They drive the same way, only one is more thoughtful and already knows what it means to win the World Cup in the last round. Bagnaia is more used to the tension ; the other, no. And that’s a little advantage.”
What is clear is that Ducati will not trip up the one from San Sebastián de los Reyes.
“It is possible that the title will be won by Martín. The seriousness of Ducati and Gigi Dall’Igna is such that will not give an advantage to one over the other. It is logical that Ducati wants to keep the number 1, but it must happen after a duel between two technically equal Ducati riders and it will be like that,” he concluded.
