Hezbollah hid Russian weapons in tunnels

The tunnels are located at a depth of 8 m and are equipped with steel partitions and doors and can be accessed through residential buildings.

BILD reports this.

The publication’s deputy editor-in-chief, Paul Ronzheimer, said a group of journalists was allowed to enter a Shiite village located near the border with Israel. The trip took only 25 minutes. Most of the local residents left the place.

Currently, the village is controlled by the IDF and the Israeli flag flies from the minaret. A network of Hezbollah tunnels was found in the village, where weapons and missiles were stored.

Rear Admiral and IDF spokesman Daniel Hagari guided journalists through these tunnels. As it became known, in this village the militants were planning an attack against Israel on the eve of the events of October 7, 2023. Inside these underground structures there was a kitchen equipped with appliances, groceries and a coffee maker.

A portrait of slain Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah hung on the wall of one of the bedrooms, and weapons and light vehicles stood nearby. Hagari noted that these bunkers are better equipped than similar Hamas facilities in Gaza: “Just a few days ago I saw in another village rockets launched from Iran through Syria. These are Iranian and Russian weapons.”

Former commander of US forces in the Middle East Frank McKenzie said Iran is in a difficult situation due to the escalating military conflict. He noted that Tehran was under pressure after a failed missile attack on Israel. He said Iran’s main ally, Hezbollah, had been “decapitated” and that Tehran’s offensive capabilities were “seriously limited.” It is also known that on October 8, Israel announced the liquidation of Hezbollah headquarters commander Suhail Hussein Husseini, who played a key role in supplying Iran with weapons.

Recall that “Cursor” wrote that the former head of the National Security Council, Major General Giora Island, gave an interview on radio 103FM. He expressed pessimism about the progress of IDF operations on several fronts. “Israel faces seven open fronts. We are not close to ending any of them and we have no idea how to end them,” he said.
