Under the COP29 Volunteer Program, options for attracting volunteers to the COP29 global climate conference have reached their final stage.
Oku.Az informs that the role training stage has been completed, important to improve the knowledge and skills necessary for the participation of COP29 volunteers in the conference.
As is known, during the last few months different general trainings were carried out that covered important topics such as personal development, sustainability, climate change, environmental protection and the COP29 process for the participants of the COP29 Volunteer Program in order to provide comprehensive information. and increase their competence in the preparation stage of the COP29 conference. Volunteers who successfully completed the general training phase participated in special functions training.
Specialists of the relevant structural divisions of the COP29 Operational Company of Azerbaijan carried out special trainings, including specific tasks and responsibilities that volunteers will perform during the COP29 conference. At this stage, volunteers learned about the structural units where they will work, met with team members and were informed about their roles during COP29. Based on the results of the training phase, 3,000 volunteers were selected to work in 35 directorates in 17 departments of the operating company. Starting October 14, these volunteers will gradually be involved in the activities of accommodation services, transportation, logistics and other operational directions.
Starting from November 3, the final stage of the program will be the venue of the event – the Baku Olympic Stadium, where training with the participation of volunteers will begin. At this stage, volunteers will directly learn about the infrastructure of the event space, various areas such as the Blue and Green zones, volunteers representing different functions in the area will work on job skills in a coordinated manner.
