Novelda man burns his ex-sister-in-law’s car in the street and forces the eviction of a neighboring family

A 35-year-old man has been released with charges and a restraining order for allegedly intentionally burning his ex-sister-in-law’s car in Novelda (Alicante) due to family conflicts.

According to the Civil Guard, the fire completely burned the former sister-in-law’s vehicle, in addition to affecting another car parked nearby and causing damage to public lighting and two neighboring facades, which their turn caused the expulsion of a family who were inside, for a precautionary criterion.

This incident occurred on the night of October 2 in a street in the urban area of ​​Novelda and triggered the intervention, in addition to agents of the armed institute, local police and firefighters of Elda, who they put out the flames.

Coordinated by the Court of First Instance and Instruction number 2 of Novelda, a team of fire analysis experts from the Civil Guard arriving from Valencia took charge of the investigation and found fire accelerator products.

According to EFE, the collaboration of citizens and testimonies made it easier to locate the ex-brother-in-law of the car owner, a 35-year-old neighbor with a history of other events and that he had problems with his ex-parent in the past.

The man was arrested on October 9, charged with four counts of criminal damage and, after being brought to court, the judge ordered released with restraining orderor concerning his ex-sister-in-law in a case in which the Novelda town hall presented itself as a victim of damage to public lighting.
