The footbridge will connect the towns of Sanlúcar de Guadiana and Alcoutim
The Council of Ministers agreed on Tuesday to authorize the signing of the agreement between Spain And Portugal for the construction of an international bridge over the Guadiana Riverbetween the cities of Sanlúcar de Guadiana (Huelva) and Alcoutim (Algarve).
As indicated in the City Hall references, this is an agreement that covers the project of construction of a bridge that connects the aforementioned cities, to physically allow circulation and communication between the two. This step was included in the Final declarations of successive Iberian peaks.
The text of the agreement responds to the spirit of friendly cooperation that governs relations between Spain and Portugal and aims to improve the conditions of movement of vehicles and people between the two states, thus contributing to the development of the area cross-border located in the Autonomous Community of Andalusia on the Spanish side and the Region of Algarve on the Portuguese side.
