This Wednesday, Vox accepted the PP amendment so that those under 16 can attend bullfights accompanied by an adult, instead of completely lifting the ban on access to bullfights for minors.
It was during the Parliament’s Institutional and General Affairs Committee that she gave her opinion on Vox’s proposal to modify the law on animal welfare and to authorize the entry of minors to bullfighting shows and which initially proposed to cancel without qualification the ban on the entry of minors into arenas.

During the debate on the amendments, MP Vox Sergio Rodriguez He questioned the defense that, according to him, the left makes of minors, limiting entry to bullfights but promoting other practices such as sex change or abortion or participation in risky cultural events such as castellers.
“It’s a tavern posture. Minors run no risk and suffer no psychological consequences. What bothers them is that bullfighting is what we call a national holiday and they reject anything that smells of Spain,” he said.
Rodríguez recalled that participation in bullfights is included, by decision of the Supreme Court, in the cultural bonus for young people, the “Pedro Sánchez gift”.
On behalf of the PP, the deputy Cristina Gil recalled that bullfighting is part of the UNESCO definition of cultural heritage and defended the right of minors to access this heritage and defended the development of the autonomy of minors.

Cristina Gómez, of Unidas Podemos, said that “it is difficult to understand” that with the breakdown of the investiture agreement, the PP continues to accept and promote these measures.
The opinion will soon be debated and voted on in the plenary session of Parliament.
