The President of Aragon, Jorge Azconannounced the bonus of 99% inheritance tax for group II at the Regional Debate, held this Wednesday at the Cortes d’Aragon. This group includes descendants and adoptees aged 21 or over, spouses, ascendants and adopters.
The measure that will emerge next 2025was one of the great social demands and which Azcón considered “an act of justice”: “No descendant, ascendant or spouse will pay for the death of a loved one”.
This announcement thus joins the decision taken by the bipartisan PP and Vox to eliminate inheritance taxes for those under 21 in 2024, considering that this tax was “an injustice” to continue to maintain. Its real impact has been somewhat less, taking into account that it is limited to one million euros and that the measure has affected a maximum of fifty people throughout Aragon.

In this sense, the only things that remain to be eliminated from inheritance taxes are those of group 3 and 4that is to say that considered for uncles and nephews, and that of foreigners.
Inheritance taxes in Aragon and other measures
The commitment of the Treasury domain, managed by Roberto Bermudez de Castroshould continue on the “path of lowering taxes”. In this regard, it must be remembered that last year there was an increase in 300,000 euros the minimum exempt in assets, which increased from 400,000 to 700,000 euros. Furthermore, the regional section of the personal income tax has been deflated, with a reduction 5% until 50,000 eurosand it benefited 700,000 Aragonese.
In this sense, the leader of the Regional Executive announced different initiatives in tax matters, such as a law of social and entrepreneurial impulse to regional taxation, focused on “improving the taxation of large families; improve the acquisition of housing for young people and disadvantaged groups; which improves the autonomy of disabled minors; to facilitate the management and continuity of family businesses, and to benefit the Aragonese who wish to continue seeing in rural areas.
Boost to “We’ll be back”
The president announced that he would continue to promote the successful program We will come backfocused on encouraging consumption, which served to “improve the purchasing capacity of citizens and, above all, to support local commerce”.
Azcón argued that his goal is to “allocate more than 20 million euros during this mandate to a program which is an example of success. In 2025, all municipalities that wish, regardless of their size, will be able to join We will come back. The program will also have a larger allocation than this year.
In this support from the Aragonese Government and local businesses, made up mainly of self-employed workers and micro-SMEs, he highlighted that work is already underway on projects such as the Zero fees for self-employed people and by promoting its growth through innovation and financing with proposals such as the Innovation planpromoted through CIRCE and institutions that develop improvement plans, and double SODIAR’s budget to grant participatory loans to microSMEs and thus meet their financing needs.
