Oku.Az This was reported by Sabit Bagirov, director of the Entrepreneurship and Market Economy Assistance Fund, during a briefing on the poisoning of the ecology of Azerbaijan and the South Caucasus as a whole by Armenia’s illegal mining activities.
He said that according to the UN, 153 countries in the world use transboundary water resources such as rivers that flow through the territory of several other countries:
“Approximately 3 billion people live in river basins located directly on the territory of various states. Therefore, the joint use of transboundary water resources is relevant for all of humanity. Although Azerbaijan is a participant in this Convention, Armenia is not. Armenia’s accession to “This Convention can also play a very important role in reducing the risks of pollution of rivers flowing into the territory of Azerbaijan.”
