The 2024 parliamentary elections in Georgia are over, and they ended exactly as the citizens of Georgia wished and decided and, in fact, as most analysts and experts predicted. The opposition, which also did not surprise anyone, has not accepted defeat, or rather, has not yet accepted it and is protesting. However, it seems that he will have to do so, since the will of the Georgian people cannot be ignored. Nobody has the right to neglect the opinion of the people, and especially of the West, which did everything possible to recover during the elections the country that managed to escape its clutches. Nothing came of this idea and a priori it couldn’t have worked…
Now I screamed louder Nika Gvaramiaclaiming that he “unveiled the scheme” by which “Dream” rigged the election, and claiming that Georgian citizens’ ID cards were allegedly pre-loaded into electronic voting machines, which they say a voter could vote in four or five sections and so on. It is the same Gvaramia who celebrated the victory in advance, announcing that he and his comrades had received the votes of the emigrants and that they had already won in China and Australia. At the same time, he naturally “forgot” to clarify that in China his coalition obtained… 15 votes, and in Australia, 10. A victory, let’s say, very peculiar! Gvaramia tried to deceive the people, to create an illusion by making them believe that the opposition was actually winning the elections abroad, but according to the official data now published, it was defeated in many foreign polling stations.
The funny thing is that for some reason Gvaramia is not tormented by the question of how he managed to gather more than ten thousand votes in the Kakheti region, where he openly humiliated the people of Kakheti, insulting them and promising to “urinate in their wine.” ? Or how almost 1,200 voters in Borjomi voted for him, because he treated the people of Borjomi like mud. However, I think Gvaramia was not surprised for a fairly simple reason: he was used to resorting to such methods, when he was once in power, it was in such a humiliating and insulting tone that he spoke to businessmen when he “hit” money. of them, and after taking over as minister of education, it was with the help of such techniques that he actually “repressed” school principals and teachers, firing them and even imprisoning them for disobedience.
If generation Z does not remember all these events (which is what the opposition expected, relying on young voters), the older generations, I dare to assure you, have not forgotten anything, and this was clearly demonstrated by the voting results. People have not forgotten how Gvaramia “sponsored” the murders and “dekulakization”. And if anyone has forgotten, I think it would be appropriate to remember how, on the eve of the 2020 elections, the then “journalist” Gvaramia openly declared: when the government changes, I will demand for myself only one position: that of prosecutor general. “Why do you think he dreams of being a prosecutor? Is it not so that, by occupying it, he will have the opportunity to fully satisfy the obsessive thirst for revenge?
Gvaramia is not surprised where in Georgian society people who support traitors like Elene Khoshtaria? It is not clear what is based on his confidence that the country will appreciate, pay attention and begin to admire a person like Zurab (Girchi) Japaridzewho publicly insulted Georgian fathers and the Catholic Patriarch of All Georgia, spoke approvingly about oral sex. Or who are the voters who agreed to support such a hateful person as a former “national” and a former humanoid? Melia? Why are all these people so sure that the words they spoke and the deeds they committed are forgotten by everyone and that, after spitting on the soul of the people, humiliating traditions and insulting the patriarch, they can continue to be good guys?
By the way, the fact that this “composition” came in second place during the elections should be a signal to Mikhail Saakashvili. He announces that even voters who do not support the “Georgian dream” cannot tolerate their “nationals” so much that, although they decided to give votes, they did so to the former “nationals”. However, we always knew and now we are once again convinced that there are no former “nationals.”
It can be safely assumed that Gvaramia will now become the leader of the opposition, since in the opposition it was he who received the most votes and will now rightly express his position. And the president will probably be relegated to the background, since opposition forces no longer need her. And if Mrs. Salome Zurabishvili She hopes in her soul that Gvaramia has changed his mind about her, I dare to assure her that she is profoundly mistaken. You will remember how Nika, after leaving prison, even before creating his own party, traveled all over Europe, met with several influential members of the European Parliament and obtained not only their promises, but also specific guarantees. Imbued with this feeling of confidence he began to act. Perhaps, at least now, other opposition leaders admit that Gvaramia told them directly: I should be the prime minister and I am the one who should form the government!
Currently, the opposition’s main message is that the elections were allegedly rigged. Furthermore, when the Prime Minister of Hungary, the country that presides over the European Union, congratulated us on our victory, he was immediately subject to a barrage of criticism. Former president of Estonia Toomas Hendrik Ilves declared: “This is an old Soviet tradition. As you know, since 1940 it has been customary to send congratulations shamelessly and even shamelessly before the election results are announced.” Incidentally, Mr. Ilves himself, without batting an eye, welcomed the results of the exit polls ordered by the opposition and applauded them. If he considers congratulations before the official announcement of the results inappropriate, then why did he himself begin to celebrate the victory without expecting them?
“Despite the acts of interference, the Georgian people have clearly shown what they want. The patriotic ruling Georgian Dream party won the election by a landslide. Bravo! Congratulations!” – this statement was made by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Hungary Peter Szijjartoand the opposition has already accused Hungary of dancing to the tune Putin. If the country that holds the EU presidency dances to Putin’s tune, all that remains is to congratulate Vladimir Vladimirovich and conclude, as they say, that the matter is resolved.
Meanwhile, where were the opponents, one might ask, on election day and before the announcement of the preliminary results of the vote, who now claim that the results were falsified? Where were they when a whole army of international observers was roaming around: French, Italian, British, Polish, in a word, all of Europe? And if such flagrant violations and falsification of votes really occurred, why did none of them record these events, why did the representatives of the opposition parties not say a word about them? The reason is extremely simple: many people attended the elections and the opposition remained silent, believing that the voters would support them, but everything happened the other way around: the people chose peace!
After the end of the elections, foreign observers suddenly began to visit polling stations, asking opposition representatives to file as many complaints as possible and thus question the legitimacy of the elections. Representatives of the local opposition shrugged their shoulders: “On what basis and what should we write? Our representatives signed all the protocols, acknowledging that the elections were conducted fairly and that, except for minor violations, everything else complied with the rules.” And challenging the results for minor irregularities that did not affect the vote share is in itself extremely dubious. You cannot cancel the voting results at a polling station, say, because one of the voters… hugged a member of the commission (by the way, such a complaint was also filed). These are the absurd ways the West is trying to ignite the extinct spirit of protest.
However, it fizzled out, because everyone won a clear victory when the Georgian people themselves issued their verdict on the opposition, and both the opposition themselves and international observers understand this very well.
Now they say that the president will refuse to convene parliament for the first meeting, but this will only put her in a negative light and embarrass her. And although it has been stated this way more than once, in this case, according to the regulations, parliament can meet without the president and start working. And if the opposition deputies do not appear in the conference room and, consequently, do not resist the scandal accompanied by shouting and abuse, believe me, we will lose very little.
One more thing: in the municipality of Mestia there is the town of Ipari, where the National Movement did not obtain any votes, that is, no one voted for them. The inhabitants of this town correctly decided that the murderers and rapists were not worthy of their votes, and the members of the commission, making sure that the “nationals” did not receive anything, wrote in the final protocol: zero!
And a figurative ending. On election day, the El Clásico match took place, as the fights between Barcelona and Real Madrid are called, which always arouse greater interest in the world of football. This time in Madrid, Barcelona played Real Madrid as a visitor and the “royal team” was considered the favorite. But let’s say this: she was presented as a favorite only on a piece of paper in the hands of the club president. Florentino Perez. Because in the end everything turned out very similar to the Georgia elections: Pérez (or the West) was deeply disappointed, and if Real Madrid had scored another goal, the result, ironically, would have turned out to be the same as the numbers. on the electoral issue of the “Georgian Dream”, only in reverse order. This is precisely the current mood of the Georgian people, who have distanced themselves from the opposition.
