The storms refuse to leave Castilla y León. After the strong waterspouts that occurred in some parts of the Community, mainly on Saturday, where the emergency services managed more than 80 incidents, mainly in Burgos, the National Meteorological Agency (Aemet) has reactivated for the afternoon of this Monday the warnings of strong storms and rains in the provinces of Burgos, Soria and Segovia, which could be accompanied by hail and strong winds.
In Soria and Burgos, in the regions of the Iberian System, the warnings are orange due to the rainfall that They could leave up to thirty liters in an hour, While in the rest of the province, as well as in Segovia and the Burgos plateau areas, the alert level drops to yellow.
Warnings continue in the provinces of Burgos and Soria in the early hours of Monday to Tuesday, although in both cases at the yellow level.
After yesterday’s intense events, this Sunday was the day of the assessment of the damage. This happened in Medina de Rioseco, where the Civil Protection helicopter of the Junta carried out a reconnaissance flight over the city of Valladolid to assess which areas were most affected by the rainfall that left up to 35 liters per square meter.
For their part, the firefighters of the Provincial Council of Valladolid are working intensively to assess the material damage and rebuild the damaged roofs.
The rain and hail, accompanied by strong winds, dumped amounts of up to 34 litres per square metre in the city in one hour, while in Burgos, the archives of the National Meteorological Agency (Aemet) determined that the storm dumped 32.8 litres per square metre.
