Sánchez refuses to reveal how many times he or Begoña Gómez met with Aldama, and Feijóo calls for his resignation “now”

The President of the Government, Pedro Sanchezrefused this Wednesday to reveal how many times he or his wife met, Begoña Gomezwith businessman Victor de Aldamanow in prison for the conspiracy to Koldo affair. There are various reports that suggest they may have had a direct relationship, but the president would neither confirm nor deny.

The president of the PP, Alberto Núñez Feijóo, began the government control session in Congress by asking him to explain “to the Spaniards how many times, where and what” Sánchez and Gómez spoke with Víctor de Aldama. Sánchez’s response was a headlong rush, without clarifying the mystery, which is why Feijóo asked for his resignation.

“Mr. 1, state institutions cannot be at the service of your legal defense. They belong to the Spanish, leave now“, said the opposition leader. Although Pedro Sánchez apologized for the first time since the start of the affair – he did so after a question from deputy Ione Belarra – he did not show that he intended to resign.

“His attitude and his face betray him,” Feijóo said. “All roads lead to you: the bites, the Delcy stops [Rodríguez]the gold bars, the Ferraz bags, everything… You arrived as a champion against corruption and you found yourself with a code name in the corrupt conspiracy, the 1,” he added.

Feijóo said Sánchez “cannot present himself as a mere spectator.” “He knew about Delcy and he lied, he knew [José Luis] Abalos and he stopped it, he knew his wife and covered it up, he knew about and participated in the multi-million dollar airline bailout,” he added. “His resistance is no longer heroic and his resignation is textbook,” he stressed.

Pedro Sánchez, on the other hand, does not see it that way. “1,000 days left in legislature and you and your closest team behave as if there are 10 days left. What’s going on, they’re telling you your time is running out?’” Sánchez said.

The Prime Minister refused to give any explanation regarding the plot and hid behind the good management of his executive and the prompt reaction to expel Ábalos from the party.

Sánchez declared that his line of action was to “act with force, five days after the news was announced in the media”, to “collaborate with justice” and to “govern”. His goal, he said, is that “in 2027 Spain will be more prosperous and more united” than when the PP governed.

Of course, Sánchez first apologized, albeit very briefly, in response to his response to MP and former minister Ione Belarra, who accused him of having a government that “put its hand in the box”. “I apologize to the citizens”he assured, saying he regretted the corruption affair.
