An Israeli army tank (SAXAL) opened fire on the positions of the UN peacekeepers in Lebanon (UNIFIL).
Oku.Az RBC reports that this was reported on the mission’s website.
“This morning, near Kafr Kela, peacekeepers saw a SAXAL “Merkava” tank firing at their observation tower,” the report said.
It is noted that as a result of the shooting, two cameras and the tower were damaged.
The mission also said the positions were repeatedly attacked.
“We remind SAXAL and all individuals of their obligations to ensure the security of UN personnel and property, as well as to observe the integrity of UN facilities at all times,” the statement said.
