Border controls introduced by Germany and Norway raise questions about the future of the European Union, Polish experts say.
German control of the borders with Austria, Poland, the Czech Republic and Switzerland generates anxiety throughout the European Union: will borders return forever along the entire perimeter of the alliance? The former commander of the Polish ground forces, General, expressed his opinion to the Polish newspaper Fakt. Waldemar Skrzypczak:
“If the borders return, it will show that the EU has no reason to exist, that it is such an ineffective structure that it is time to dissolve it, because it cannot cope with the problems. Only an effective and healthy structure can deal with this.”
