Anti-corruption asks judge to categorically reject PP’s complaint against PSOE based on anonymous testimonies

The Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office requested that the complaint filed by the PP against the PSOE for illegal financing not even pass the first filter of the National Court. The department headed by Alejandro Luzón asked Judge Santiago Pedraz to dismiss this criminal action by which the party of Alberto Núñez Feijóo accuses the Socialist Party of various crimes following two anonymous testimonies published by a media outlet. From now on, it will be the magistrate who will decide whether to open an investigation or if, as requested by the public prosecutor, he rejects these accusations without opening proceedings due to the lack of evidence.

The PP’s complaint presented to the National Court, the content of which was revealed by elDiario.es, accused the PSOE of illegal financing but was based on information published by the media The Objective. Information where two anonymous people report that businessman Víctor de Aldama, one of the main defendants in the Koldo corruption case, had negotiated with a businessman from the hydrocarbon sector to obtain licenses in exchange with a commission of 600,000 euros. According to these anonymous testimonies, a total of 90,000 euros ended up in bags at the PSOE headquarters, rue Ferraz.

The anti-corruption has not made its arguments public because the matter is secret, reports the prosecution, but its criterion is that the criminal action proposed by the PP is purely inadmissible and that no investigation is even opened about this. “Everything points to irregular financing and that is what we want to investigate,” spokesperson Borja Sémper said a few days ago.

The Popular Party took its offensive against the government to court after the latest revelations about the Koldo affair and the hydrocarbon network that affects Víctor de Aldama. In recent days, the same Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office has requested that part of the case be brought to the Supreme Court so that former minister and deputy José Luis Ábalos can be investigated. A report from the Central Operational Unit (UCO) of the Civil Guard indicates that the Minister of Transport at the time received compensation for supporting the plot within the framework of public attributions. Among other things, according to investigators, paying his partner’s rent and a chalet enjoyed by the politician.
