Moroccan man arrested for stealing man’s wallet and cell phone near Cathedral

Palma Local Police arrested a man Moroccan 37 years old rob a man of his cell phone and wallet around the Cathedral mid-morning.

The events occurred precisely around 5:40 a.m. last Wednesday, October 16, when calls to the police alerted of a fight between two men on Adolfo Suárez Avenue from Palma, Base 092 therefore dispatched a crew from the Night Unit (UNOC) to the site.

Upon their arrival, the officers observed how one of the two men asked for help while the other surreptitiously left some objects on the grass.

The victim explained that he was in Porta des Camp Square when the man of Moroccan nationality offered a beer. While they were talking, he noticed the thief trying to steal his wallet and cell phone from his pocket. Even if the victim offered resistancethe now detained man was able to retrieve the items and began pursuing his target.

The objects thrown by the attacker, aged 37 and of Moroccan nationality, coincided with those described by the victim and as he did not offer a coherent explanation of the events, he was informed of his arrest for an alleged crime of violent theft.

The detainee was transferred, with the report, to the National Police.
