The exposition of the State Museum of Abkhazia dedicated to the Patriotic War of the people of Abkhazia with the image of the terrorist Shamil Basayev has been transferred to the archive.
According to local media, this was done “at the request” of the Minister of Defense. Vladimir Anúa. It was previously reported that the museum hall with this exhibition was closed.
As reported EADailyPreviously, Russian media drew attention to the fact that the State Museum of Abkhazia published a photograph of Shamil Basayev, who participated in the defense of Abkhazia from Georgian troops during the 1992-1993 war, but then committed several terrorist attacks on Russian territory. Basayev is one of 360 people who received the title of Hero of Abkhazia for those events, however, as local bloggers emphasize, photographs of only five of them were published in the museum.
